Secrets Of The Crystalline World

Shot taken for Saturday Self Challenge -- 15/02/2025 -- Translucent .

For this week's challenge I have taken my first shot in the Air-Fryer Studio !!

So what do we have here to fit this week's challenge of Translucent - what we have here is a peep into the world of crystal , maybe deep underground another world far different than the world we know here on the surface of our world - Earth ! The shot as I took it instantly made me think of the book "Journey To The Centre Of The Earth " by Jules Verne and of course inspired by the book the musical work of the same title by Rick Wakeman .

In a crystal world who knows what life would be like , here on Earth's surface crystals play an important part in a numbers of ways from science to jewellery to healing and meditation !

A crystal or crystalline solid is a solid material whose constituents (such as atoms, molecules, or ions) are arranged in a highly ordered microscopic structure, forming a crystal lattice that extends in all directions. In addition, macroscopic single crystals are usually identifiable by their geometrical shape, consisting of flat faces with specific, characteristic orientations. The scientific study of crystals and crystal formation is known as crystallography. The process of crystal formation via mechanisms of crystal growth is called crystallization or solidification .

So here we have my entrance into the world of crystal as seen by the translucent crystals - or maybe it is just a macro shot of the inside of a geode which I am presuming is quartz - the shot taken in the air-fryer with the cooking container removed and a small torch shining on the back of the geode - the geode can be seen in the first comment boxes - both in two sections and then solid , the shot is looking into the smaller section .

A track I often come back to for a listen -- Crystal Lake by Klaus Schulze ( recorded in 1977 )
