Training on Various Government Schemes specially designed by the State Government of Kerala for the returnee migrants
The state of Kerala is grappling with a complex array of socioeconomic problems faced by Gulf returnees. Due to the lack of entrepreneurial opportunities here, many migrant returnees are forced to remain unproductive for the rest of their lives. It is in this context, on 19.02.2018 National Workers Welfare Trust (NWWT) in collaboration with Association for Stimulating Know-how (ASK) has conducted a one-day training program on various government schemes specially designed by the State Government of Kerala for the returnee migrants. The training program was organised at Chirayinkeezhu panchayat in Trivandrum and facilitated by Sister Sally Michael, Secretary of NWWT and Mr. Ignatious Loyola, Project Coordinator of the organisation. “The rehabilitation and reintegration of returnee migrants into family, society, and current economic system is need of the hour which cannot be ignored at any cost”, emphasised Sister Sally. The project is implemented by ASK in partnership with Verite, supported by The Bureau of Democracy, Human Rights and Labour, US Department of State. [Photo: ASK]
