Chełmno town square with Town Hall and monument of the uhlan
The first town hall in Chełmno was built at end of 13th century as a small Gothic building with two floors. In the years 1567-1572 town hall was thoroughly expanded, it included a prison, court room, shop and municipal scales. The tower was built in years 1584-1596. The next major expansion took place in 1884-1887, when second floor of the building was added. The town hall was restored in the 1970s. Currently, the town hall houses the headquarters of the Chełmno Land Museum.

Pierwszy ratusz w Chełmnie był zbudowany pod koniec XIII wieku jako mały gotycki budynek o dwóch kondygnacjach. W latach 1567-1572 ratusz został gruntownie rozbudowany, znalazły się w nim więzienie, sala sądowa, sklep i waga miejska. Wieżę wybudowano w latach 1584-1596. Następna duża rozbudowa miała miejsce w latach 1884-1887, kiedy nadbudowano drugie piętro budynku. Ratusz był restaurowany w latach 70-tych XX wieku. Obecnie w ratuszu mieści się siedziba Muzeum Ziemi Chełmińskiej.
