Vilnius - Orthodox church of St. Spirit
The first wooden Orthodox church in this place was built in 1597. From 1609 of church was taken care of the newly founded monastery and the school run by it. After 1611 it was the only Orthodox temple in Vilnius.
In 1634, with the permission of King Władysław IV, a new, stone one was built in the place of the wooden church, which was destroyed many times as a result of wars and renovated and rebuilt several times. The current shape of the church building is maintained in the classical style, but inside there are traces of the earlier Baroque style, especially the decor of the iconostasis.
Since 1850, the temple has been a sanctuary for the martyrs Antoni, Jan and Eustachy. Their remains are kept in the central part of the church's nave.

Pierwsza drewniana cerkiew położona na tym miejscu była zbudowana w 1597. Od 1609 cerkiew przeszła pod opiekę nowo założonego monasteru i prowadzonej przy nim szkoły. Po 1611 była to jedyna świątynia prawosławna w Wilnie.
W 1634, za zezwoleniem króla Władysława IV, na miejscu drewnianej cerkwi powstała nowa, murowana, która była wielokrotnie niszczona w wyniku wojen i kilkakrotnie remontowana i przebudowywana. Obecna bryła budynku cerkiewi jest utrzymana w stylu klasycystycznym, ale we wnętrzu są ślady wcześniejszego stylu barokowego, szczególnie zdobienie ikonostasu.
Od roku 1850 świątynia stanowi sanktuarium męczenników Antoniego, Jana i Eustachego. Ich szczątki są przechowywane w centralnej części nawy cerkwi.
