Valle de los Caidos - Civil War memorial
To commemorate the victims of Civil War in Spain, General Franco chose the Cuelgamuros Valley in the Sierra de Guadarrama (now called Valle de los Caidos).Great on the 150 m high, visible from many miles cross, stands on the underground basilica carved into the rock. It comes to it 240 meter long tunnel hewn in granite. In the crypt there are urns containing the ashes of thousands of people (republicans and nationalists) who died in the war. General Franco is also buried in the basilica.

Pod ogromnym na 150 m wysokim, widocznym z wielu kilometrów krzyżem, znajduje się podziemna bazylika. Wchodzi się do niej 240 metrowym, wykutym w granicie tunelem. W krypcie znajdują się urny z prochami tysięcy osób (republikanów i nacjonalistów) poległych w wojnie. W bazylice jest również pochowany Generał Franco.
