Paris - Moulin Rouge
In October 1889, in the Jardin de Paris, at the foot of the Montmartre hill, the Moulin Rouge (Red Mill) was opened. Its creator was Joseph Oller and his manager Charles Zidler, great businessmen who understood the tastes of the then society. Moulin Rouge is best known as the birthplace of the modern can-can dance form.
The original building of this cabaret burned down in 1915. Today, Moulin Rouge is a tourist attraction, offering musical entertainment for guests from around the world. The decor still contains many elements of French "fin de siècle" decorations.
