Innsbruck - "Unsere Liebe Frau Maria Himmelfahrt" - the tower of church
A charming place in Innsbruck, is the small parish church in Amras, dedicated to the "Assumption of the Blessed Virgin Mary" (Unsere Liebe Frau Maria Himmelfahrt). The first description of the church dedicated to Our Lady comes from 1408. Around 1480, it was rebuilt in the late Gothic style.
The statue of the Virgin Mary over the main altar dates from around 1490 and has been cultivated for centuries as a miracle. This is an unusual picture, because the Mother of God keeps the child upside down. According to legend, the young man fell from a great height. He called for help from Mary, he was caught and safely lowered to the ground. He later informed that he had seen the "Lady" who was helping him.
