Paris - Louvre, Venus de Milo
Aphrodite of Melos known as the Venus de Milo is a marble sculpture from the Hellenistic period of approx. 130-100 BCE. Was found by a Greek peasant Jorgos in 1820 in the vicinity of the theater in the Greek island of Milos. It was bought by French sailor Jules Dumont d'Urville, a figure even then had her hands.
Since 1821 the statue is in Louvre Museum.
