Project 365, Day 1
June 9th, 2017
Taking the time to sit and reflect on the people that I have in my life and all of the different life situations we go through, I come more and more to appreciate those in my life that help bring positivity and healing.
We're all a little jaded from this world, but there is healing in caring for each other, sharing with each other, and being there for one another. Instead of bottling it all up inside and leaving it as pains in my body, I'm learning again to release and let go of what is no good to me.
If it hadn't been for the love of my life - directing me back to my creative passions, I'd be stuck trying to figure out how to mentally let it all out.. stuck ruminating over negative things all the time.
If it hadn't been for Tan Chai - letting me under her healing wings and giving me the chance to learn Guam's Traditional Healing, I wouldn't have uncovered over again the cultural respect and love that I have for my family, elders, ancestors, and island.
If it hadn't been for Tan Susan - teaching me breathing techniques in order to help me breathe out the negative of the present and past, I wouldn't have been able to heal my past hurts I protected myself from.
If it hadn't been for Ko - helping to spiritually cleanse my mother and I, we would have never begun our journey of healing and coming closer together.
If it hadn't been for my son - loving me unconditionally through my growing and learning to be a mother, I'd have no light that I'd want to shine for.
All these people that I hold close, most especially my son, are my reason to shine my light and to do what is right under the eyes of God. Thank you - God, Universe, Guahan, and My Ancestors - for these people in my life, for helping and guiding me in my journey, in my life. Thank you, most of all, for this opportunity to do the best I can and become the best Clarissa Torres I could possibly be.
