"Hands"- Nasca, Peru
The Nasca lines in Peru are designs, geoglyphs, made in the ground. They are very large---the largest ones are over 650 feet across. They were not discovered until the 1920s when commercial airlines began flights over the area. There are hundreds of geogliphs in an area of about 50 miles. They can only be seen by flying overhead, although you can see a couple from an observation tower. They are believed to be drawn by the Nazca Indians from 200 B.C. to 800 A.D. There are many different guesses as to their purpose and significance, but no real agreement.

This design is called "The Hands", but I think it looks more like a chick.
