LEGO Douglas DC-3 - 7628: Peril in Peru
New year, new builds.
I want to start this year with a new project - something I've always wanted to do. Remastering some of my old LEGO sets that I had as a kid.
First on the list was set 7628 Peril in Peru: brickset.com/sets/7628-1/Peril-in-Peru From the Indiana Jones line. I loved this theme as a kid, and even though this set was only based on a deleted scene from the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, I dearly loved it. The set is based on the DC-3. Luckily for me, it has already been done a few times in LEGO.
I took a lot of inspiration from builder Vaionaut: flic.kr/p/QbcRFV - who's model was inspired by builder Obuh Samateus (the original Cuusoo/Ideas DC-3 entry): ideas.lego.com/s/p:49e3ebaec2614a1d8d3a10a09ead38e0
I've only had the past few days to work on the digital model (thanks to covid), but I'm excited to get going on my first ever LEGO plane MOC!
It's not 100% complete here, just a start to see how it might go together when I build it for real. I hope it's strong enough to support the solid wings, which house Circuit Cube motors to power the propellers.
After this, I'll finish my old WIPs from last year and try to start my home layout again.
