ela's heart
I've not met many like ela. Actually, I've yet to meet her. My flickr friend ela is from Romania, on another continent away, but she has become someone very dear to me. She somehow manages to stay motivated, despite her current struggles, to keep up with her artistic side. Along with her insightful and often fascinating photography, she crafts tiny creatures and dolls from scraps of fabric. They're amazing!
I myself have never enjoyed sewing as it requires so much patient focus, yet just recently I found myself digging out some scrap fabrics, ironing them out, and cutting out heart shapes to be made into 3 inch tall puffy hearts. The work is no longer work; it's an expression of joy containing gifts of acceptance and motivation gleaned from several world-wide friends such as ela. I am so grateful to the people who keep on keeping-on; you encourage all of us with your perseverance... Wishing all of you a Happy Valentine's Day :)
