Weeping Beech Endcliffe Park (2)
I'm a Sheffield expat, living in London.
My nomination is for the weeping Beech tree at the Hunters Bar entrance to Endcliffe Park.
My Mum & Dad were married in the church up Brocco Bank (Christ Church) in 1953 and my Dad proposed to my Mum under that tree.
About 30 years later I was living in Hunters Bar, being an art student at Psalter Lane. I was friends with a lot of anarchists - Bert (who had a three legged dog of course), Mary who went out with Jesus (who was really called Andy I think and his Dad was a bank manager) and many more scraggy mohair-jumpered people.
I remember one lovely summer evening coming down to the park to meet up with them and they were all sitting in the tree, completely stoned. 20 anarchists spliffing away and giggling. very best wishes Caroline Bottomley xxx
