First recorded in 1257, the water corn mill was abandoned at the outbreak of the Second World War. Its last occupants being Annie and Jim Peacock, known locally as Mr and Mrs Griff. A cloud burst in 1947 washed away the roadway which covered the beck and in 1949 the roof was removed.
