the resort stands on the place of the ancient harbour of Assos, with the ancient city of Assos on the mountain behind (currently Behramcale, a small but spectacular village) ...

 

the hotels are all new buildings made all with grey stone facades in the style of old buildings on this coast so the place looks like center of an old village or small town ...

 

as the beach is very narrow and with pebbles, all hotels have built those wooden platfoms on the water : some of them larger (like this case), some of them very small, for only a couple of couches ...

 

in the background, on the other side of the water, the greek island of Lesvos ...
