Dorset, Bournemouth, from the Cliff

Bournemouth is where Soames first met Irene, before the Saga begins, in 1882. She is an orphan and living with her step-mother here. Soames is smitten with her and refuses to give up proposing until she says yes (out of hatred for her home, not love for him), almost 2 yrs. later.
