Five years alone

I still remember

The sad lines

Of your smile

 

The feel of your arm

While we sat talking

About nothing

On the porch

 

Ten years alone

Do you remember me

When you close your eyes

To dream

 

Am I still part of you

When you feel a breeze

Or am I forgotten

Like an old shoe

 

Twenty years alone

I only remember

My broken heart

When you left

 

I can't even remember

The color of your eyes

Or the touch of your skin

I can't remember

Not being alone
