I Looked

I looked in my heart

And found a sad child

I looked in my past

When I felt so reviled

 

I searched in the dark

To help my fears end

I dreamed up a nightmare

And found a new friend

 

I looked to the sky

And searched for a god

I looked at myself

And knew I was flawed

 

I looked all around

And searched for a sign

Then lied to myself

And said I was fine
