Never More

Never more an easy smile

Always the hidden pain

Long dead, my inner child

Dreading how the years wane

 

Never more a new friend

All are gone or dead

Weak from holes I cannot mend

Afraid to die alone in bed

 

Ever now my world is dark

Ever now I live mistakes

Wishing life would be less stark

Wishing never gives. It takes.

 

Never more a happy dream

The nights are dark and cold

Stained with guilt I cannot clean

Torn by thoughts I hold

 

Never more to dance for fun

Wrapped in sheets as winter comes

Never more

And always
