Marian Shrine dedicated 1979
This photo from May 27, 1979 shows Father Thomas Koegel with sudents at the blessing of the Marian Shrine east or the rectory. The shrine was constructed by Robert Moore, a masonry contractor. A copy of a check to Donzell's Garden Center for $1,186.99 dated July 19, 1978 was for landscaping of the shrine with an invoice in that amount for stone. There also was an invoice from W. L. Tucker Supply Co. of Cuyahoga Falls dated October 5, 1978 for $173.20 for Bessmer (cement) and sand. On November 16, 1978 Fr. Koegel wrote a letter to Mazzolini Artcraft Company, 1607 E. 41st St., Cleveland, to order the "Mother and Child" statue to be executed in white marble. The particular statue was numbered 119 and cost approximately $1,000 with delivery expected by March.
