Ahilyabai Fort- A view from Baneshwar Mahadev Temple
On an island in the middle of the Narmada river stands the Baneshwar Mahadev Temple. An inscription on the marble plaque on temple reads
" Pricess Sabrina Sanyogita Holkar and Ari Kanakadri Ellis were married in Maheshwar on 23 February, 2006.
As the sun rose that mourning, the couple sat down at the Baneshwar Temple and asked for Mother Narmadas's Blessings.
To commemorate their marriage Sabrina and Ari had the Baneshwar Temple restored in 2008.
