Galactical Amazing

Here up north in Germany I'm only just a landscape photographer and actually I have no idea what I'm doing with taking pictures of some starry night skies. However, if you want to take a picture like this, I can give you a little tutorial:

Okay, open your eyes and stare straight ahead for 20 seconds.

Not at me, honey, you should stare at the stars.

So what do you see?

Nothing?

Then you see exactly what I saw, but my app says there IS the Milky Way. Exactly this direction.

Now go, mount your camera on a tripod, focus on infinity ..... higher darling higher ....

I don't know what you're focusing on down there, but the stars are over there, behind me. Very good, do you have it now?

Now, at the largest aperture, you press ...

you press, press the sh, the sh..sh, shutter.

Remember, we have 20 seconds now, baby.

Did I say high iso? Higher, higher than high to fly with the scene.

Star photography somehow opens up unimagined horizons.

Just try it yourself ;-))

Ah, and always stay safe in keeping your distance these days, hm?
