Dendrobium caniculatum (tea-tree orchid)
Property managers at Bush Heritage's Yourka Reserve showed us this beautiful orchid species, which was flowering when we were there volunteering for ecological surveys. Thanks Paul and Leanne!
These orchids grow in broad leaf tea-tree (Melaleuca viridiflora) woodlands in high rainfall coastal north Queensland - a listed endangered vegetation community (Australian Government Department of the Environment, 2018).
