Lego Iron Monger MOC
LEGO Iron Monger MOC
Made this custom Iron Monger from Iron Man 1 after hearing rumors of the Iron Monger set coming in the summer—super stoked that Lego’s releasing more MCU sets! I absolutely can not wait to see the set pics :)
Though Obidiah Stane was a pretty forgettable villain, I still liked his suit design. And also, the original Iron Man movie is a work of art and is my second favorite MCU film after Endgame.
This guy took up a couple hours yesterday. I kept switching parts on the torso and arms and couldn’t find a combination I liked for a long time. The torso was a massive, MASSIVE in all caps, pain in the butt to get right. I used three modified bricks with studs on all four sides on the inside, but to get the height right, there were gaps near the top that I wasn’t sure how to fill. I ended up using clone antenna pieces and some minifig hands to fill them. Also included some Iron-Man-esque flaps on the back, idk if Iron Monger has them. They help smoothen the shaping on the back, and also gives me an excuse to use my favorite “recently” introduced Lego pieces, the triangular wedge slopes 😁
Overall, I’m pretty happy with how this turned out. I’m definitely getting the Iron Monger set coming in the fall, and I’m interested in seeing how the build will turn out. However, I’m most excited to be finally getting an Iron Man Mark 3 in minifig form! Lego usually aces the designs on their Iron Man figures, so I’m decently optimistic. Just hope they don’t use the godawful new Iron Man helmet—the old design would fit perfectly for the Mark 3.
What do you guys think? Comments are welcome! :)
