Late Nights, Early Mornings
North gently caressed the warm cup of coffee in her hand as she looked into the morning sky. As she quietly relished in the feeling of the sun dancing on her skin, her thoughts start to trail off. She glanced over to the bed and watched him sleeping. His chest lowering and rising simultaneously with her heart beat. She cursed herself under her breath for taking such delight in having him near. North raises her cup to her lips as flashbacks of the nights before rushed over her like a wave. How did it come to this? As she stood there questioning herself, she heard " Good Morning Beautiful". She turns and smiles at the figure occupying her nights and thoughts. North smiles as she walks back to the bed. He reaches up and pulls her down to him, and wraps his body around her. As she feels his warm breath on the back of her neck, she looks up to the sky, smiles and whispers Thank you.
