Olivier : Risotto isn’t just for Italians anymore…..

via WordPress ift.tt/2eG56QM

“The whole idea is to earn the flavor. No one gives it to you.”

Mr. Gastronaut completely agree with the saying and therefore worked hard to land the spaceship in Olivier at Grand Indonesia Mall Jakarta. Olivier is located in LG floor of the west mall Grand Indonesia, and starts to get heavily crowded after office hours. Therefore, it is advised to book a table if you have certainly decided to dine here. The reception of the staff is excellent and polite, full marks to the staff and the way they go about serving their customers. The atmosphere at Olivier is lively and fresh, music is apt and set at perfect volume. The lighting is well-managed and spacing between the tables is managed quite well. FYI the non smoking zone is a bit cramped, they should give a thought of making it a little spacious.

Although Olivier serves Asian, Western and Italian preparations, the end result is a balance created with right ingredients and maintaining the quality to highest levels. Mr. Gastronaut’s favorite section in the menu was Pasta and Risotto, lets review and see if the place is really Out Of the World or not …..

Ambience : 4.5/5 The use of glass ceiling and wooden blocks has been crafted wonderfully. The lighting is balanced. The place gives a classic yet young feel at the same time.

Variety : 3.5/5 The menu has interesting recipes to offer but lacks depth and width. Olivier must improve by adding a few new recipes.

Portions : 4/5 The portions are sufficient and the presentation method is fantastic.

Service : 4.5/5 Excellent service starting to end. Professional staff, courteous, polite and well-trained. While waiting for the main course a complementary appetizer is served. This standard of service makes hell of big difference between Olivier vs competitors in Grand Indo mall.

Value for Money : 3.5/5 Although the food quality is great and service level is excellent. Olivier is slightly over-priced.

Must try : Valrhona Choco Fondant cognac ice cream. The best choco lava cake in the town. Hard crust, rustic texture from outside and hot flavorful thick chocolate cream inside compliment each other perfectly. The scoop of cognac ice cream adds a twist to the flavor bringing in the feel of nut, vanilla and caramel. It is simply “OUT OF THE WORLD”.

Final Verdict : A light cheerful place to freshen up the mood. Thumbs up for anyone who wants to try Olivier for the very first time.

PS : risotto over Pastas at Olivier
