Wood Anemone
The wood anemones are among the first carpeting spring flowers locally and are such a joyful flower. Their ferny foliage can be s tudy in itself sometimes as wel. Here, there was another flower in the background and in its out of focus state seemed to give the main flower a bit of a glow. You do have to get down and dirty to photograph them however and the sight of an older gent with derrière sticking high in the air must have been amusing to several users of this bridleway!
