Geoff Kell (Old Forest Man)
Chalk Hill Blue
Any reading I’ve done suggests these little chaps can be “locally common” in the right habitat. Their name suits this location perfectly as St Catherine’s Hill Nature Reserve near Winchester is exactly that - a chalk hill. Interestingly, at the time of year this was made they were the only blues I saw but there were certainly quite a few about - not many in photogenic situations though as is always the case!
