Koyasu Shrine 子安神社 5
The most moving shrine to see in the precinct is Ashifunesha Shrine (“Ship of Reeds Shrine”) – a rare shrine branch which recalls the god protecting the prematurely born brother of the goddess Amaterasu, who, unable to receive the blessings of this world, passed over to the ghost world in a ship made of reeds. The shrine is thus for prayers of the protection of the soul of the departed foetus.
