Forced off its regular route through Cajon Pass and over the LA&SL due to a massive wildfire, the Union Pacific's Los Angeles to Denver priority intermodal Z train gains some rare mileage as it detours through Soledad Canyon on Metrolink's Valley Subdivision. Seen approaching Acton, the train will run north via Bakersfield and the San Joaquin Valley and then east across Donner Pass.
