I Have No Idea...
about 1mm diameter, found under some wet leaf litter in the woods just south of Pittsburgh PA, May 24, 2010.
Look at the veiny threads coming out of it ...my only guess is that this might be a spore capsule from a cannonball fungus, caught in the act of putting out mycelia. There's also the possibility that the mycelia are in fact just veins on the weathered leaf underneath.It could be a seed.
