Valley View is the last pullout from westbound Northside Drive (CA 140) that offers a grand view of Yosemite Valley and the Merced River. Here it is at dawn, shrouded in fog a couple of mornings after a heavy winter snowfall. At this time of day, especially in winter, the only people you'll meet at a place like this are other serious photographers. On this morning I met two other photographers here, each using a 4x5 view camera similar to mine. We traded stories and speculations about the future of film photography as we watched the fog move around - always changing shape.
