Bumblebee Jasper Cabochon

Bumblebee jasper is a trade name for a relatively rare material from Indonesia.

 

Calling it jasper has caused no end of confusion.

 

Having been analysed bumblebee jasper has shown to be limestone made up primarily of calcite.

 

It contains no jasper at all.
