Product Review: Benton’s Snail Bee High Content Essense

Have you seen any Korean women or even men face to face? Have you ever ask yourself how nice it would be having a clear white and bright skin? I have. A LOT OF TIMES. Their ‘I woke up like this slash no-make up look’ is something I’ve been wishing and praying to get one day. They have like 10-12 skin care routine. OMG!

 

A part of their routine is ‘essence’. Essence is in liquid, torn between serum and face cream. It has clear liquid-like texture. It’s kinda sticky too but not too much. It has highly concentrated formulas which is packed of nutrients and moisture for the skin and since it is in liquid form it can be easily absorbed by the skin.

 

Then I came across this essence from Benton, it’s called, Snail Bee High Content Essence. I’ve heard and read too many positive reviews about this product. Although there are still reviews saying it didn’t work out for them or their problem worsened because of this, I still felt excited to see if it will work for me. I really high hopes for this product. I’m oily to combination skin type and I’m pimple prone. I have pimple scars and marks, there are parts around my under eye, cheek and nose that are reddish, and my pimples tend to darken after it dries and heals. Yeah, it heals but it leaves its spot. It’s been my insecurity for years now and I really hate it. Because of this, I told myself to never stop trying products until I found the savior for my skin.

Knowing that Koreans have such nice, white and clear skin, I joined the hype for this very product. But before that, I did my research on its 2 main ingredients – snail slime and bee venom. At first, I was like, what? Is it even possible for these two work? Setting aside my so-called suspicions, I searched for online shops that sells this.

 

Snail Mucin: Snail mucin firms and restores skin by replenishing moisture and supporting cell regeneration (which helps fade acne scars, smooth uneven complexions and reduce hyperpigmentation)

 

Bee Venom: Breaks down cell membranes, which tricks your body into thinking it’s under attack. It responds by increasing circulation, triggering the production of collagen and even relaxing facial muscles. This helps reduce the appearance of wrinkles, which is why some use bee venom as a natural alternative to Botox.

 

Now, who wouldn’t feel tempted with these benefits?

 

Thanks to my researching skills, I found tons of Instagram online shops that are based in my country. Their items are directly imported from South Korea.

Contains: 150 mL of essence

 

Packaging: The essence is packaged in dark matte plastic bottle. It has pump, perfect for hygiene-conscious. The bottle itself looks expensive and classy. I also like the fact that it is travel-size.

 

Clear gel-like watery consistency

How it works? I apply this every evening before I sleep. What I do is I wash my face with facial foam, toner then wait for a minutes for the toner to get absorbed and then 2 pumps of the essence for my face. Spread lightly on skin and dab it with my fingers for better product absorption. I do this every night for more than 2 weeks now to test if my skin reacts negatively or not.

 

Results:

 

 

 

√ Reduces redness around my cheek and nose.

 

√ Dries them out overnight.

 

× fade acne scars

 

× brightens skin tone

 

I had mild breakouts while using this. I got pimples on my eyebrows and on my cupid’s bow but the essence dries them out.

 

 

 

Personal Verdict:

 

Will I buy again? No. Because of the mild breakouts and it didn’t fade my pimple marks and spots, the very reason I bought this product. I don’t mind the breakouts, but it didn’t lighten my spots and never healed my pimples. Drying them out doesn’t mean they are healed. It didn’t brighten/lighten my skin tone. This is not for me.

 

If you think 2.5 weeks isn’t enough as a trail period, please do tell me and I will do it again. But I think its enough, what do you think?

 

PS: This is my personal experience with this product. Effects may vary on every person. Just because it didn’t work for me, it doesn’t mean it won’t for you. You are free to give it a try, if it didn’t work discontinue.
