High tide

Nude beach [clothing optional]

Kehena Black Sand Beach

Located in the Big Island’s Puna district [Hawaii].

Info: The sand in the beach is amazing. It is black, made possible from the volcanic ashes as lava flowed into the ocean waters. The beach is well shaded by coconut palms and ironwood trees. Swimming is possible when the water is calm only as strong rip currents and undertows occur frequently... The people who populate the beach is known to be free spirited, nudists, and hippies. Though public nudity is illegal in Hawaii you will often see nude sunbathers. > hedonisiahawaii.com/attraction/kehena-black-sand-beach/
