is a Spanish municipality belonging to the province of Guadalajara, in the autonomous community of Castilla-La Mancha. It is part of the region of the Serranía and was the dominion of the Dukes of Medinaceli. Its original name was Cugullent, from the Latin cucullus, which means "cap". This would allude to their location on a hill and the crowding of their houses that seem to form a pineapple or bud. According to other authors, Bud would mean "mound with a steep slope.
