Gaints of the Void

Explaining how crazy big space is with words is hard, pictures make it easy. This side-by-side comparison of some large deep sky objects with the moon help put it into perspective. All pictures were captured with the same camera and lens, but with vastly different exposure settings.

Top: The California Nebula at 300mm as 180s exposure (6400iso)

Center: The Moon at 300mm as a 1/500 second exposure (100iso)

Bottom: The Andormeda Galaxy at 300mm as a 120s second exposure (6400iso)
