How can I be more creative and more original?

As someone who does nature photography as a hobby out of passion, I always tend to be more original with my photos, as most photographers probably do. I have a few spots in my local area that I like to visit for that purpose, but the problem with that is that all of them are now too familiar to me, so originality and creativity are a little bit challenging at least. So, I used to ask myself, what can I do differently in that familiar area to make my photography more original? Of course, I could change areas and go somewhere new, but with a busy life and daily job that is not always that practical nor mainly doable.

My thinking, on which I made my most important decision, was that I need to be more patient with my photography in terms of condition, mood, season, light and everything else that makes a photo good. Like with any breathing being, nature is also changing with time passing, and sometimes it can change a lot from one year to another. I’m so grateful sometimes that I have a shot of some tree that has in the meantime fallen or some brunch that had cracked and similar. I have many examples that some compositions work only in certain conditions, like fog, mist, and blizzard and some others work in different seasons. Some are better at sunrise, some are better at sunset. Also, I find that the position of the sun is important, as how is the sun moving through the season and how is that affecting the particular scene. I like, from time to time, to have a person in my shot as a scale, so that can work nicely too.

Nowadays, I like to think about this a lot when I’m out photographing and I always do my best to have some interesting photos to show, but mostly to be, as a hobbyist, satisfied with the photos I’ve got.
