Back to basics
When I started learning about photography, I watched a crazy amount of YT videos and read the same amount of articles about making good photos. And what all had in common was the fact that you have to be creative in a certain way with your shots.
One of the suggested ways to make your photos interesting and pop out is framing the shot, to shoot between the leaves for example. I was so into this, especially in the Autumn time. But, as they say, you gotta know the rules if you wanna break them. Somehow through the years, I stopped thinking about the rules in photography. I don't think I'm necessarily less creative now, but I definitely don't think in the same way when taking photos. I still give my best to get some level of good shots but I use rules of third, for example, much less.
The day before this shot was taken we had a proper blizzard. Heavy snow, wind, all of that. It was gorgeous for photography. The only problem was... well it was Saturday, and people were not working, and children were not in school. What I want to say is I knew there were footprints all around, and I don't like them in my photos. After much debating, I went to this local little forest to explore a bit, and of course, as I suspected, footpaths everywhere. This is probably the only photo that I plan to post from shooting that day.
I saw this group of fir trees with snow on them, so I did some shots of them, but I didn't like any in particular. Then something got me to try to frame it with the leaves of the tree that was in front. I was back to basics, thinking about all the stuff I were reading and seeing all those years ago. At least I've got some photos was my thinking. And there here it is.
