“God. Fucking. Dammit!” Zeiko yelled out in between breaths, looking slightly dishevieled. He walks through the hallways of a nearby Lexcorp facility, where his assistant just notices him.
“Dr. Zeiko! Are you okay?” She asks.
“Nevermind that, just had to deal with escaping the police, losing my experiments, the usual.” He replies in a snarky tone before continuing his way to his office.
“Oh, Dr. Zeiko! I forgot to mention-” She’s immediately brushed by Zeiko.
“Not now! I have to-” He stops as he opens the door to his office and sees three men in military grade vests, two of which wearing the exact same masks he saw earlier, the one in the middle being the only one without a mask, he’s probably the leader. The one without the mask turns to him.
“Hola, I was wondering when the boss of this establishment would show up.” He puts his hand out, expecting a handshake. But Zeiko doesn’t respond with anything but silence with his arms crossed.
“Right. Anyway, the name’s Joseph Martinez.” Martinez says, sounding almost annoyed.
“Yes, well Mr. Martinez, why did you find the need to enter my office instead of waiting with my people?” Zeiko finally asked, walking around Martinez and his men to his desk.
“Well Dr. Zeiko, I was informed that due to a very recent history of incompetance and failure, including this… newest one with the clone and a so-called Bizarro, I was sent by the Ultra-Humanite to, well let’s say terminate you from his services.” Zeiko looked back at him, infuriated.
“Really now?” Zeiko asked before letting out a laugh of mockery to Martinez.
“I’m not joking, Zeiko. The Ultra-Humanite has decided that your vision of the future doesn’t fit quite well with his, which is quite evident given your failures these last five years.” Zeiko walks to a nearby safe.
“And just who the fuck are you?”
“I’ve already told you, my name is-”
“No,” He turns back.
“No, I mean who the fuck are you to terminate me?!” He yells out before pulling out a baton and attempting to strike at Martinez, but is stopped by Martinez. He notices a slight green glimmer from his eyes.
“Oh, my apologies.” He lets out a calm, yet somewhat menacing smile.
“Let me show you.” He hits Zeiko in the jaw, breaking it and causing him to fly directly into a wall back first. Martinez walks to Zeiko and drags him by the collar.
“You see, Zeiko, you seem to not understand what I’m trying to say, so I’ll say it again. The Ultra-Humanite has seen that your goals do not align with his. Do you understand?” He nods shakily.
“I knew you would. You see, where someone like you would want money and women, he wants the next step in evolution, starting with Metropolis. So he’s sent me and a few others to handle it ourselves. So sorry we have to do this, but you know how the boss is.” He drops Zeiko’s body to the ground.
“Oh and if you’re wondering who me and men are,” His fist punctures into Zeiko’s gut, causing Zeiko to scream in agony.
“We’re known as the Atomic Skulls.” He finishes before his irises glow a yellowish green, and Zeikofeels a growing burning pain, he realizes his insides were aflame. He struggles and claws Martinez before his body slams into the ground.
“Sweet dreams, Psycho.” He pulled out from his gut, the blood around his arm was steaming due to the heat radiating from his body.
“Toalla!” He yells out, and grabs a towel that one of his men throws at him. He wipes away the blood before calling his contact.
“He’s been dealt with.”
“Good, you know what’s next. Make sure to send in Miss da Costa to keep our man of steel busy.”
“Got it.” He says before hanging up, he beamed as he watches the news from the monitor showing footage of Superman.
“This is gonna be so much fun.”
