DCU Superman #18

I wake up from my sleep and check the alarm. 7:30 am. Good, enough time to get ready for the first day. I get up, take a shower, and get dressed to leave the hotel room and pick up some coffee. Nearly 30 minutes go by before I get back to see lois waking up from the alarm.

 

“Morning!” I say cheerfully.

 

“Morning.” she replies groggily.

 

“Still tired?” she nods. “I figured you would. That’s why I brought some coffee and reese’s.”

 

“My favorite combination. Thanks.” she plants a kiss on my cheek. “So, what are gonna do to start the day?” that’s a good question.

 

“Well…. I did hear that apparently a certain electronic band are having a performance at a club in a few hours that I happened to get tickets to.” She then stares at me with anticipation.

 

“Clark, you didn’t.”

 

“I did.” She squeals and hugs me, thanking me several times like a teenager excited to see a boy band. “But until then, let’s go check out some places. The keys are on the dresser, I’ll be in the lobby downstairs to meet with you.” I plant one more kiss before leaving the room.

A few hours later…..

 

“What’s next?” she asks.

 

“Well there’s the last and biggest landmark, the eiffel tower.”

 

“Sweet!”, she replies, before grabbing my hand and running off into the entrance, when we stop to see a waiting line, a long one…… “You gotta be kidding..” She lets out with her hand on her forehead.

 

“Well, it is the biggest landmark in paris.” I reply. She lets out a sigh before i add. “Don’t worry, just wait here and i’ll pick some food and drinks.”

 

“Thanks honey.” she says before I run off to pick up some stuff.

 

I stop by a bakery to get some sweets, chocolate-flavored mainly. But then i hear something from a few feet. I turn to see three beings in red and black. Doing what looks to be confronting a guy wearing a superman shirt.

 

“We are looking for the being you call superman. Tell us where he is, and we will spare your short existence.”

 

{“I ain’t telling you anything you cretin!”} the man shouts out in french.

 

“Very well. Prepare for eradication.” it says while it’s head glows red. Before the man could ask what it meant, a laser blasts at him, turning him into a pile of ash. Which causes everyone around them to panic and run. “Would anyone else like to tell us where the being you call superman is.”

 

“Looking for someone?” I remark. They look towards me.

 

“Greetings, being called superman. We have been sent by our leader to escort you.”

 

“What if I say no?” readying myself to fight against them.

 

“Then you will be eradicated.” before it gets a chance to blast it’s laser, I punch it against a wall before the other ones fly right at me, pushing me against the wall, I swatted the one on my right side away, while the other one blasts a laser at me. I grab it and slam it into the ground, destroying most of it.

 

“One down, two more to go.” I say before it the second one flies right at me, blasting lasers from it’s hands. I counter it with my lasers, I fly at it while doing so. As soon as it finishes blasting the laser, I grab it by arm and slam it into the ground before I land dozens of punches within seconds. Leaving it as a smashed up mess. “Two down, one more to go.” I look to see the last one standing there. I fly right at it before it says something.

 

“Halt Kal-El!” I stop at it a few feet away.

 

“Kal-El? Are talking about me?” it chuckles at me.

 

“Ah yes, I forgot, you’re referred to as Clark Kent, yes?” how? How could he know my identity?

 

“What do you want?” I ask coldly.

 

“Very well, I’ll be blunt, I want vengeance.”

 

“Vengeance? Vengeance for what?”

 

“You took away my purpose, and now you’re life will have to compensate.” it starts glowing red. “Farewell Kal-El.” the robot explodes. But it doesn’t make sense, why would he want vengeance? Wait, if he knows my identity, that means he…

 

“Lois!”

 

Done
