Hong Kong: 2047
Two Police officers of the Hong Kong Police Force (HKPF) in heavy riot gear are standing guard near an closed down store in the City Of Hong Kong in 2047.
2047 is an important year for Hong Kong as it is meant to be fully incorporated into the People’s Republic Of China. Although 2047 is far away people are concerned regarding the future of Hong Kong and it’s status as currently Hong Kong has its own laws and several laws of the People’s Republic of China does not apply to Hong Kong because of the one country, two systems way of governing.
However the future might look uncertain for Hong Kong as for now. There is always that small spark that may change everything. The People’s Republic Of China will make change over the course of years, either for the better or for the worst, but the same can be said for Hong Kong. Every nation and city has it’s golden age and every golden age has to come to an end. Depending on who you ask. Hong Kong’s golden age as a free and economic port has either come to an end or begun.
Despite the incorporation into the mainland cannot be avoided doesn’t mean that people will agree to this and either they leave Hong Kong or they stay and fight. This picture is an indication for the ones who stayed and continue to fight for freedom in Hong Kong if the future hasn’t been altered. This picture is purely non-political aligned and everyone has the right to think if Hong Kong under an authoritarian government is better, despide many of the youth who grew up in a semi-democratic Hong Kong, where there is freedom of speech or remain the way as it is now under the one country, two systems which is a pipedream when the future is unaltered.
Again this is a mere predicament based on the current situation in Hong Kong, the future is never set in stone and the people of Hong Kong are masters of their own fate. But then again that wouldn’t be called fate, isn’t it?
