Conquest of China

Some Japanese soldiers of the Imperial Japanese Army are exchanging fire against some unseen Chinese guerilla soldiers, while being covered by their Type 97 Te-Ke tankette during the Second Sino-Japanese War in the thick forests of south China.

The Type 97 tankette was used by the Imperial Japanese Army in the Second Sino-Japanese War, it was also used against the Soviets and saw action during the Second World War. It was designed as a fast reconnaissance vehicle, and was a replacement for the earlier Type 94 tankette.

This tankette was proven to be successful in China during the Second Sino-Japanese War as the Chinese National Revolutionary Army had only three tank battalions at that time. Because of their light weight it was easy for the tankettes to be transported across the sea or rivers.

Captured examples were likely used by the NRA as well during the Second Sino-Japanese War.

This tankette will appear in future animations about the Second Sino-Japanese War, while this tankette actually did appeared in an animation already, although it didn’t had anything to do with the Second Sino-Japanese War.
