Escape the Forest

A Chinese soldier is trying to escape from an enemy soldier of the Imperial japanese Army in the winter of Northern China during the Second Sino-Japanese War. Northern China can be pretty chilly sometimes. Among the path this soldier is running are the dead bodies of the comrades of the enemy, hence why the Japanese soldier is clearly pissed at the Chinese one.

This soldier wore a brodie helmet which was common among the Chinese forces during the Second Sino-Japanese War, this helmet along with the M1935 Stahlhelm are considered to be the most common types of helmets worn by the Chinese in the early stages of the war. They were slowly faced out by the M1 steel pot helmet over the course of the war, but they were still used in China regardless.

This was part of a scrapped concept of a brickfilm of mine about the Second Sino-Japanese War, ehre a battle would have taken place inside the forest, this battle would have explained that the 8th route army wasn’t the only army that used guerrilla tactics but rather that the KMT used these kinds of tactics as well, as the main forces retreated further back into western China.

The reason why this concept was scrapped was because of time constraints.

Overall I like how this picture turned it out.
