class of 1950, Imperoyal Village, Woodside, Dartmouth, Nova Scotia

The Romkeys lived in Imperoyal Village from 1930 to 1961. (parents: Piror and Claire, children: Don, John, Aline, Paul, Robert, Nancy)

Class photo year 1950 Grades 1, 2, 3

back row from left to right starting fifth over: Lloyd Murray, David Wise, John Hartley

front row left to right, second over: Robert Rollins, seventh over: Sharon Clark, second to far right Robert Romkey and far right Wayne Heatherington.

Imperoyal Village was demolished in 1962 to make way for an expansion of Imperial Oil's Imperoyal Refinery in Dartmouth.

The school was sold to the City of Dartmouth for the token sum of $1, but after one year of operation it made more economic sense to bus pupils to the larger schools in the city than to heat and maintain the small school.
