O'Rourke, Norberta
Margaret Norberta O'Rourke (1917-2002) was a life-long resident of Pine Grove. Her ancestors moved to the area from Ireland over one hundred years ago and as they were Catholic, her ancestors regularly walked from Pine Grove to Thornhill to attend mass, a distance over nine miles, as that was the only Catholic Church in the area. She was a former editor of the Woodbridge and Vaughan News, working for them for over twenty years, and a historian specializing in the history of Pine Grove and Woodbridge.
