Jackson, Lorna
Lorna Jackson was first elected to Vaughan Council in 1974, serving six years as a local Councilor and two years as a Regional Councilor. She was then elected as Vaughan’s first female Mayor in 1982, a position she held until her death in office in 2002. Mayor Jackson was also a member of various Committees and Boards at the City of Vaughan, York Regional Council, Chair of the York Region Police Services Board and more. Lorna and her husband Al had three children: Linda, Jim and Jeff. Lorna passed away on April 5, 2002
