Robert Keith Montgomery is currently employed by the City of Vaughan as the Corporate Mail and Print Services Team Lead since 2022. He is the son of an Infantry Officer and a military nurse. He joined the Canadian Army reserves in 2005 and the regular forces in 2008. He was then stationed with the First Royal Canadian Horse Artillery. The Canadian Battery was deployed to Afghanistan in Sept. 2009, and he returned in May 2010. He served in the combat tour Operation Athena as a Gunner for Systems Targeting Acquisition focusing on HALO and radar technology. Montgomery received these medals for his service in Afghanistan and was promoted to Bombardier upon his return to Canada.
