“Can You give a Man a Job?,” The Liberal, 1934
The “Give a Man a Job” campaign asked citizens who were less seriously impacted by the Depression to participate in helping their communities. Though Vaughan Township Council provided some relief work, it was not enough to keep up to the rate of unemployment, leading to a request for community action. The response was generous, but still not enough to combat the rising tide of unemployment.
