List of Weekly Expenditures from Laborer’s Family from the Township of Vaughan’s Response to the Depression by Mark Cunliffe, 1987

This essay, written by a student at York University, examines the Township of Vaughan as a case-study for how a small, mostly rural community responded to the uncertainty of the Great Depression. Only a few months after the Depression began, most casual laborers were barely making enough money to remain self-sufficient leading Vaughan Council to institute formalized means of relief.
